We at Kumon of Vinings prepares lesson plan and progress goal for each individual child, that provides each child a meticulously researched and refined path, which enables them to climb from the most elementary basics to the most advanced heights of the particular field of study.

Kumon is based on a simple concept practice makes perfect. Both the math and reading program progress in a linear fashion, advancing through a carefully planned series of very small incremental steps. Each step involves considerable practice. Through this repeated practice, students master skills before moving on. Each new concept builds on the foundation established by the previous one, and new exercises constantly review and strengthen previously learned skills. We at Kumon of Vinings provide the right amount of repetition by analyzing each individual child's performance.

Kumon emphasizes mastery of the subject material. Speed + Accuracy = Mastery. Before a child can advance from one assignment to the next, the materials should be completed with a perfect score within a prescribed period of time. We provide Achievement Test for each child to determine the mastery of the subject material.

We keep the center open two days in a week from 4pm to 7pm to accommodate the busy schedules of children today. Every child comes to the center, hand in homework, complete the day's assignment, correct the mistakes and go home with a new homework. The instructors grade every child's homework and provide immediate feedback to the child. Instructors not only monitor the learning process, deciding when a student is ready to move on to a next level and answering questions when a student needs help, but they also provide a very special guidance so that the child learn by themselves.

One of the key principles of Kumon is that daily study must not be a burden. That's why the amount of work for each subject is calculated so that it will require no more than about 20 minutes per day.

We involve parents to grade their children's homework at home. For one thing the child can correct mistakes immediately and because those mistakes are corrected right away, there is much less chance that the child will repeat the same mistake.

We provide monthly progress reports to all students so that the parents can know precisely how well their children and where they are having trouble.
